Adam Jones - Baltimore OriolesFriday night the Orioles dropped their fourth straight game, a 6-3 loss to the Colorado Rockies. Baltimore has now lost five of their last six after being swept in Arizona against the Diamondbacks.

After the game, Adam Jones told reporters that this defeat should wake up the ball club.

“I think this is honestly something that we needed, kind of a kick in the pants to wake us up,” center fielder Adam Jones said. “We’re in a unique position, in back-to-back years trying to do something special. Last year, everybody said we couldn’t. This year, we created the expectation. This is something you’ve got to go through to get to it.”

At 65-56, the Orioles find themselves 5.5 games back of the first place Boston Red Sox and four games back in the Wild Card race behind the Rays and Athletics.
