According to a tweet from Mike Vogel of WashingtonCaps.com and Caps365, Nicklas Backstrom and Mike Green are looking as though they will play against the Rangers on Friday.
Backstrom practiced, seemed fine. Likely to play vs. NYR. Green has a touch of the flu, still could play vs. NYR. Fehr and Poti still out.
Backstrom suffered a fractured thumb in Washington’s 1-0 win in Pittsburgh, but practiced without a splint on Thursday. Green did miss Thursday’s practice with flue like symptoms, which kept Matt Hendricks out of the matchup against the Penguins, but is expected to return after missing six of the last seven games when he was struck in the head with a puck on February 6th.
