I attend just about every home game at M&T Bank Stadium. Baltimore football fans are great.
But I have never seen fans so united at Camden Yards like I did on Opening Day. Going to Yankees games is always discouraging because the local fans are out numbered by those cheering for New York. But not on Opening Day.

For once in my life the “Let’s Go Yankees” chants were covered by an even loader “Yankees Suck” chant. Camden Yards never let the New York fans take control, which is something I have never been used to in 21 years of going to Orioles’ games.
I’m sure you’ve heard all about the signs at Camden Yards about our local boy Mark Teixeira and I have to say I’ve never laughed so hard. “Severna Park hates you!” Come on that’s hilarious.
As a loyal Baltimore fan I scream my lungs out for the black and purple, but I have absolutely no voice today after booing Mark Teixeira on Opening Day. I’m happy to say that Orioles’ fans really snuffed him out every time he stepped into the batters box.
The day before Opening Day I bought overpriced standing room only tickets so I could stand in the rain to boo Teixeira, and I’m so glad I did.
I’ll be out there again on Wednesday and I hope that for the rest of his career Mark Teixeira will be booed here in Baltimore. I know I will do my part, you should too.
