Not many Ravens fans questioned Billy Cundiff’s ability until he shanked a potential game tying 32-yard field goal in the AFC Championship. I still blame head coach John Harbaugh, who failed to call a timeout while Cundiff raced to the field to kick the most important field goal of his career, but that’s beside the point.
This summer, Cundiff will receive some competition from undrafted rookie Justin Tucker and the early reports from rookie camp on the new kid are pretty good.
I can’t wait to head out to Westminster to check out this competition! …wait…
Tucker kicked a 55-yard field goal and almost made one from 60 out at Owings Mills according to Jason Butt of CBSSports.com. “All I can say is I look forward to it, competing with a guy who’s had success,” Tucker said.
If you’re worried a rookie in a clutch situation, Tucker, from the University of Texas, is most famously known for hitting a game winning 40-yard field goal against Texas A&M during his senior year.
Now you went and did it Zach. You know you cannot question anything the Super Ravens do. Coach Harbaugh didn’t call that timeout, well because he “didn’t think about it” according to his quote after the game. He must have been thinking about his wife’s Valentines Day present, or whether the groundhog would see his shadow, but no one should or does question him because they “go to the playoffs”. They were a few plays away from the Super Bowl, one was a pass play designed for a guy who caught 4 passes all season (hey, why go to your money guy there, right?) and the other play was a Chinese Fire Drill that resulted in a missed game tying field goal.
I was laughing at Steve Bisciotti and Ozzie Newsome for putting the keys to a Ferrari in an amateur’s hands.
“Yeah, that never occurred to me,” Harbaugh said. “I didn’t think that. You know, looking back at it now, maybe there was something we could have done. But in the situation, it didn’t seem like we were that rushed on the field. [I] thought we were in pretty good shape.”
Like I said, I’ve been laughing at Bisciotti and Newsome for four years over things like this, but it’s good enough for some folks.
F Cuntdiff!
Cundiff is a joke and so is Harbaugh,,,,,,,,,,,I still can’t believe we haven’t been to a super bowl with this group of veterans,,,,,,I now believe their time has run out , Lewis surely will be slower and less effective this year , Reed is playing week to week and now Suggs is out most of the year,,,,,,,,,this defense will no longer be dominate and with the O-line ozzie has put together the offense will be middle of the pack,,,,,result=no playoffs this year for Harbaugh………
Spy, you hatin’ on Harbaugh?
Damn, I have seen it all. How is Boris and Natasha?
