Too close.
But breathe easy Ravens fans, Kyle Boller isn’t coming back to Baltimore. Curtis Painter will sign a contract this afternoon to compete for the Ravens backup quarterback position with Tyrod Taylor.
As posted yesterday, Boller and Painter were in town with Dennis Dixon to compete for the job. Jason La Canfora of the NFL Network reported this afternoon that the Ravens gave the job to Painter who reunites with Jim Caldwell in Charm City.
Interestingly enough, La Canfora tweeted on Wednesday that the Ravens like Taylor in his current role and the team plans to increase his role with more Wildcat formations this season.

The bad thing is Kyle Boller was in town and ALMOST signed with the team. The bad thing is that we signed a sorry ass Curtis Painter. A lose-lose situation. I would rather have Curtis Dickey as QB or Jamie Curtis.
