After a doubleheader on Saturday, the Orioles bullpen was wiped out. Buck Showalter admitted after the game that he wasn’t going to use Darren O’Day and that closer Zach Britton would pitch only one inning in the O’s extra inning matchup against the Boston Red Sox. Instead, he was ready to turn to another stud proven pitcher on his bench, Chris Davis.
Buck said he wasn't using O'Day today. Britton 1 inning. "I was talking to Chris Davis, I said ‘You’re next.’ He was ready." #orioles

On May 6, 2012, Davis threw two innings of shutout ball against the Red Sox in Boston. He allowed just two hits and fanned two, including Boston’s $154 million man, Adrian Gonzalez.
If only he could face Adrian Gonzalez again….
