Buck Showalter is focused. He’s preached it all season long and his players are giving the same Showalter-esque answers we’ve all become accustomed to hearing from the O’s skipper over the first five months of the season.
The above picture is an actual screen shot taken from MASN’s broadcast of the Orioles amazing 10-6 victory of the Yankees. Mark Reynolds is trotting the bases after hitting his second home run of the game and Buck Showalter refuses to celebrate.
It’s working. That focus has led to 77 wins.
It’s not luck. It’s Buck.
Someone needs to come up with a t-shirt showing Buck’s reactions to various events- World Series win, walk off home run, perfect game, etc. Just use the same picture of his arms across the railing, staring straight ahead.
Yeah, pretty much. I guarantee if it’s Game 4 of the World Series and the Orioles had a three games to none advantage or were down zero games to three, there would be no way to tell which it was by observing him in the dugout. He’s like the eye of the storm, calm while everything around him is restless activity. He’s easily the AL Manager of the Year, whether he gets the award or not, among many other reasons because he’s kept the team from getting too high or too low.
I luck Buck……………
