What a train wreck.
I’m a die hard O’s fan, I live and die with them. I was loving life a couple weeks ago when the Orioles were doing everything right and now I’m dreading covering the team for BSR.

What is going on?
Are there any signs of life in the Oriole clubhouse?
It’s a building season. I know. But the way the Birds are losing makes the situation even more frustrating.
Dave Trembley is clearly upset, but he doesn’t really seem to have an answer for the problem
Baltimore hasn’t scored more than 4 runs in a game since they put up 7 against Detroit on May 29. They’ve scored just 19 runs in the past 11 games (1.72 per game).
Melvin Mora hasn’t had an RBI in 24 games and hasn’t homered in 30 games.
In June the O’s have been outscored 53-19 and have been shut out twice.
O’s Averages in June:
Brian Roberts: .210
Adam Jones: .242
Nick Markakis: .219
Aubrey Huff: .185
Melvin Mora: .182
Luke Scott: .242
Matt Wieters: .250
Robert Andino: .250
Nolan Reimold: .280
That pretty much says it all.
The O’s have to turn things around. It’s gotten to the point where the Birds need to do anything to change things up. Bend Sherrill’s brim, shave Luke Scott’s head, pull the socks up — change something.
Just saw this today…which means that I'm commenting on this post after two wins against the Braves over the weekend. I don't know if the wins signal a turnaround, but there are some good things to take from the wins. Some timely hitting for one, and as far as today, another great pitching performance from Brad Bergesen. As of now, Bergesen is filling the role of stopper, and that's a good thing. Let's hope the O's bats have awakened from their slumber.
I agree, but I think that Bergesen is proving to be more than just a stopper. He's the best pitcher in the O's rotation right now. I'm not crowning him the Ace, but I think Bergy's performance deserves quite a bit of credit.
I almost wrote that he (Bergesen) was the new ace of the staff, but I didn't want to give him that title too soon. I agree, as of the last few weeks, he's been the best starter the Orioles have. Certainly he has stopped the last two losing streaks.
