BREAKING NEWS from Baltimore Ravens training camp. Safety Ed Reed has edged former Pro Bowler Billy Cundiff and rookie Justin Tucker in the team’s kicking competition.
The star safety converted a 35-yard field goal before practice on Monday afternoon at the Ravens complex in Owings Mills. Reed, who kicked the old school straight-on style, celebrated after beating fellow safety Bernard Pollard on a friendlier version of the kicking competition.
I guess it is good to know that if all else fails, Ed Reed can be called upon for an emergency field goal.
Video evidence after the bump.
I thought Ed was retiring…or wait, no he wasn’t…er, maybe he was because he got disrespected…
he figured if the ravens weren’t going to up his salary that maybe he could try out for another position and get paid for both.
Wow! That’s actually a really nice looking kick- as far as trajectory and ball flight. I’m impressed haha. Granted he ‘toe-punched’ it but nonetheless, kudos to Ed!
