As Capitals fans look forward to the Washington Capitals game against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday, it’s hard not to think of all the great memories that the Capitals-Penguins rivalry has brought us. Here’s what some fans said:

The Winter Classic game brought so many memories. Can’t wait until the Capitals host the Winter Classic in 2015! Here’s a video of Fehr’s two goals in that game.

Hard not to think of David Steckel leveling Sidney Crosby as well.

Here’s one that might not technically have occurred during a Capitals-Penguins game, but hey, it involves Jaromir Jagr getting hit hard, so I approve!

Here’s a video of it!

That one was great too. Speaking of which, my personal favorite memory of Capitals-Penguins games involves both Alex Ovechkin and Sidney Crosby. It was the 2008-2009 Eastern Conference Semifinals. Both players scored hat tricks.

I just think that it’s awesome how Ovechkin and Crosby seem to bring out the best in each other. Playing against each other forces both of them to take their game to a new level.

Another one of my favorite memories involves Arron Asham and John Erskine. The Capitals and Penguins were facing off for the first time since Asham severely injured Jay Beagle in a fight. Though Asham expressed regret for injuring Beagle, Erskine decided to deliver some vigilante justice.

I’ll never forget the epic line brawl after game 5 of the 2001 playoffs.

Wednesday’s game is another chapter in the Capitals-Penguins rivalry. I think I speak for everyone when I say that I hope the game creates more memories.
