Jake Peavy blames Buck Showalter for lights out in Detroit

Comerica Park went dark in the second inning of Tuesday’s ALCS matchup between the Boston Red Sox and Detroit Tigers. No one blamed Roger Goodell or started any other sort of conspiracy theories on the cause of the blackout, though Jake Peavy did joking place blame on Orioles skipper Buck Showalter according to Scott Lauber of the Boston Herald.

An electrical sub-station in downtown Detroit went offline, causing the lights to go out at Comerica Park during the second inning. After a 17-minute delay, play resumed. The Red Sox dealt with the interruption by resorting to an inside joke that they use whenever something weird or unforeseen happens during the course of a game. “It’s not going to work, Showalter,” Sox starter Jake Peavy said, referring to inventive Baltimore Orioles manager Buck Showalter.

I don’t get it.
