Chris Tillman took the mound today in search of a pie in the face, unfortunately he’ll have to wait another five days.
He did have a quality start and kept his team in the game with the command of his off speed pitches. Tillman went 6.2 innings giving up four hits and two earned runs.
He gave up a two run shot to Alex Rios in the second inning, but was clutch after the homer. He retired six straight and didn’t give up another hit until the fifth inning.
Tillman was taken out in the seventh inning after striking out two and giving up a single to Rual Chavez. Cla Meredith came in to face the nine hitter, Joe Inglett, who grounded out on one pitch.
Baltimore tied the game in the fourth with RBI from Aubrey Huff and Nolan Reimold. Those runs kept the O’s in contention the whole night, but they stranded ten men today and that was just too many.
Danys Baez gave up the walk off double to Adam Lind in the tenth and the O’s fell 3-2.
Brian Roberts left the game when he fouled a ball off his leg. It appears to be nothing more than a bruise.
