Jen Royle Parting Ways with MASN, Staying with 105.7

Earlier today, Jen Royle announced via her Twitter account (@JenRoyleMASN, which is sure to change as well) that she will be leaving her position with MASN Sports officially on March 31st and accepting a role with 105.7 The Fan.  When it was announced a few months ago that the Orioles would be partnering with WBAL 1090 for game broadcasts, it became news that Jen Royle, who held jobs with both MASN and 105.7, would need to basically pick one side to stick with now that 105.7 would no longer be the flagship station for Orioles baseball.  Royle tweeted to give the announcement to her followers:

Dear Baltimore and DC,
I’m ready to tell you – Due to CBS radio losing Orioles flagship, unfortunately my last day at MASN is March 31Mon Mar 21 18:50:28 via web

Me leaving MASN… that’s the bad news. Good news to follow… hang tight.Mon Mar 21 18:52:11 via web

But… I’ll be co-hosting the #Orioles pregame show for 105.7 The Fan LIVE from Pickles Pub w/ @Jim_Duquette & Joe Orsulak! PARTY!!!Mon Mar 21 19:13:02 via web

I’m staying at CBS/105.7 because it was important for me to continue covering the Ravens. I’m very excited about the O’s pregame show!Mon Mar 21 19:15:16 via web

In a later tweet to a follower, Royle said that she will not only be doing the pre-game show for Opening Day, but also for every home game Monday-Friday from 6:00-7:15 PM.

She also tweeted later on that the name of the pre-game show on 105.7 will be “Baltimore Baseball Tonight.”

We wish Jen Royle the best of luck in her transition to solely 105.7 starting in April!

What do you think of this move? Did you enjoy Royle’s coverage on MASN covering the visiting clubhouse, or is she better suited for more of the Ravens coverage with 105.7?

Interesting move. You know how people say that someone has the face for radio? Well she has the knowledge for non-talking movies.

Tim your response makes no sense. Jen Royle is the most knowledable female reporter we’ve ever had in Baltimore. Sucks we cant see her on MASN anymore because she’s beautiful but now we all get to meet her at Pickles!

Tim you don’t know what you are talking about. Jen Royle is so great! Doesn’t take herself too seriously and puts up with a lot of crap from the tools over at WNST. Mostly Nestor and Drew, GMC actually seems to be a good guy from what I can tell.

Royle rocks. Love that girl. She’s hilarious and hot and knows more baseball than most guys in this town. Total package. WNST is a joke.

Jen Royle is a complete tool. She doesn’t know anything about Orioles Baseball. All she knows how to talk about New York and how damn amazing it is. I really could careless about the Yankees. An she expects people to feel sorry for her. I could give two craps if she is pretty. I rather listen to Brittany and Amber

Feel sorry for her Austin???? I don’t think she has come off that way at all. Sounds to me like you dont like that she came from new York, which is a pathetic reason. If she didn’t know O’s baseball she wouldn’t have gotten a radio promotion. You are just a jealous hater. Britany the MLB girl? Eww
