We’re just three full days away from a Thanksgiving battle between brothers John and Jim Harbaugh or as I like to call it The Harbowl. Jim’s 49ers come to Baltimore with the second best record in the NFL at 9-1 looking to clinch the NFC West. He’ll face his brother John, whose Ravens sit atop football’s toughest division and are a perfect 5-0 at home this season.
The matchup promises to be a hard fought battle and one that both teams want to win for their respective coaches. “We all want to beat his brother,” Pernell McPhee told Aaron Wilson of the Carroll County Times.
John and Jim will likely be the story of the week in the NFL as they matchup in a meaningful game in front of a national audience full of turkey eaters.
The Harbaugh brothers have wrestled and fought as kids, but have only gone head to head once in their long sports careers. Their last matchup was an American Legion baseball game in high school. John’s team, which consisted of older and better local players, defeated Jim’s team of misfits 1-0. “I think I had the game-winning home run, if I remember correctly,” John told the media on Monday. “As far as everyone here knows, right?”
