This is a clip from sports humor site- Kissing Suzy Kolber. They have been going through the NFL playoff teams and tellingus why we should hate them. This is up there as one of the best.
The Steelers, of course, are named after the once-burgeoning steel industry that was based in Pennsylvania, and the team’s popularity is oddly tied to the industry’s failure. Starting in 1970, U.S. Steel couldn’t compete with low-wage foreign manufacturers, a problem that was aggravated by a recession that started in 1973, kicking off a widespread diaspora from the Pittsburgh region. At the same time, the Steelers won four of seven Super Bowls between 1974 and 1979, ensuring that the steel-making dipshits who lagged behind all other industries in forming unions raised a new generation of disphits who liked the Steelers, even though they were being raised in non-shitholes rather than the fallow gray hell of Pittsburgh (such as Curt Schilling, who was born in Alaska and went to high school in Arizona). It also opened the door for bandwagon fans of the greatest and dumbest magnitude, intellectually bankrupt idiots who enjoy the simplicity of following a winner and the color black (see: Snoop Dogg, born and raised in Los Angeles).

Myself, I base my dislike of teams with the fans that surround me. I have a very good friend who posts on here once in a while – Bill Mc – who is the most modest and unassuming football fan I've ever met- AND he's a Steelers fan. Both cities are very similar, both teams are similar, and the fans are similar. I hate to say it, but I don't hate the Steelers. I hope the Ravens win every time the two teams play, but I don't hate them.
MGW – you've been over the top with your respect and adoration of the Steelers this week. I would be willing to bet that there's Hines Ward and Troy Polomalu jerseys in your closet.
RGB, you're either from Glen Burnie or Pasadena same difference. I don't wear jerseys with mens' names on them. Perhaps if I was dated them or if I idolized them I might, but I try to just wear stuff with the team name or the shield logo as I also don't like the heckyl and jeckyl cartoon bird. Yep, Im old school and like the classic uniform look. I think the script B should be on the helmet (the one on the birdie head and on the pants) just like Chicago's "C" or the Giants "NY" or Green Bay's "G".
Thank You MGW, and the feeling is mutual. I am not a bandwagon Steeler fan. I have liked them since 1970, when I was 12. This is the game to watch this weekend, because of the division rivalry, plus what is at stake. To me, these to teams are the same, but in different uniforms. Like most fans of any team, I hope the Steelers win. It will be a very close game. I say 20-17 Steelers. It should be a good one.
Good…hate is a very strong emotion.
There are bandwagon jumpers associated with every team (look at the Saints' following after last year's Super Bowl) but my support of the Steelers has NOTHING to do with their other fans. I have friends who cheer for the Titans, the Patriots, the Colts (misguided though they are) and yes, even the Ravens. Would be pretty dull if we all supported the same team.

You got it, Pole. As a matter of fact I still have nightmares about Jim Kelly and Thermal Thomas running over the Dolphins (the team I rooted for in between the Colts departure and the Ravens arrival).
The Bills were amazing back then…….
They drove me crazy…Bruce Smith, Darryl Talley, Andre Reed…Their the main reason Marino never got a ring.
Correction: To me, these two (vice to) teams are the same. Ooops!
