The NFL Network forgot all about the Mayflower vans that escorted the Baltimore Colts on that snowy day in March of 1984. I’m sure many in Baltimore wish they could so the same.
While replaying the Baltimore Ravens dramatic overtime victory over the Chargers in San Diego, the NFL Network mistakenly labeled the game as “Baltimore Colts at San Diego Chargers from Qualcomm Stadium”.
I sure hope this was before Johnny Unitas’ 1973 season.*
I believe the Hall of Fame also has a minor Colts mislabeling they need to fix as well.
* – Unitas didn’t actually face the Colts in ’73.
It SHOULD be the correct name. You may forgive that drunk father and addict son, but I won’t. Love the Ravens, but that lovely family not only would not sell back the name, but did not honor a 1988 lawsuit mediation agreement to support Baltimore for an expansion team.
I’m with you Lerner! They should be the Colts!
This town had its collective hearts ripped out of their chest when Irsay took the team to Indy. Even if with all the success of the Ravens and years passing by, it will never replace what the Colts meant to some around here.
