Roger Goodell - Ray Rice video - NFL - Baltimore Ravens blog

Oh you thought that after Monday the Ray Rice saga was over? I get the feeling that after the latest news, it’s just getting started.

TMZ is reporting on Monday morning that the National Football League “NEVER contacted the casino to request video of Ray Rice brutalizing his fiancee.”

Sources who worked at the casino at the time of the incident tell us ... if the NFL had asked for the video, they would have gladly complied.

They add that the casino made copies of the elevator surveillance video for police and Rice’s lawyer and the league requested “any and all information” from law enforcement, but didn’t receive it because the case was pending.

But the NFL had other options ... namely going to the casino or Rice's lawyer -- but the NFL never bothered to ask.

Wacky conspiracy theory? It’s hard not to believe the website that actually released the footage. TMZ’s report also completely falls in line with the conclusion that ESPN’s Keith Olbermann made on his show  on Monday:

By jumping to that conclusion, Olbermann calls for Goodell to resign along with Baltimore Ravens GM Ozzie Newsome and team President Dick Cass. Neither was present during the Ravens press conference on Monday evening.

If indeed this is true, you could reasonably argue that Roger Goodell can and should be replaced as NFL commissioner.
