Before I give out some quality NFL Week 8 nuggets, may I ask a question?

“Am I officially old now that I’m basically consuming the NFL product for fantasy and monetary values solely?”

I’ll take your answers below or tweet them to me @jabbyburns. Just curious.

Survivor Selections

Minnesota Vikings (-4.5) – Vikings were boat raced in QB Sam Braford’s return to Philly last week. They are much better than that and I trust HC Mike Zimmer to remind his team of that as they head to the Windy City and take on a QB-conflicted Bears team.

Nugget: The Vikings are 13-3 ATS/SU in last 16 road games.

New England Patriots (-6) – The Pats and their dream boat QB are on a mission. But before they head to Houston in early February, they have some payback on their minds this week. Sexy Rexy’s big mouth wrote some checks that him nor his over-sized brother will be able to cash this week after they popped off when the Bills went to Foxboro and beat the Brady-less Pats in Week 4, 16-love. Mr. Personality will have a nice game plan worked up for them this week in Orchard Park.

Nugget: Since 2000-when Bill Belichick took over in NE- the Pats have only lost the second game of the Bills home and home series ONCE (2014 when the Pats had nothing to play for late in the season).

Dallas Cowboys (-4.5) – The Eagles/QB Carson Wentz have soared back to what most of thought they were since their hot start, average at best. A nice win over the above mentioned Vikings last week in the land of cheese steaks, but now the rookie QB and head coach get their first look at the Cowboys who have had a week off and could get WR Dez Bryant back. If the Cowboys aren’t the best NFC teams so far this year, they can’t be too far behind.

Against The Spread

Seattle Seahawks/New Orleans Saints (over 48.5) – Last time we saw the Seahawks they were scoring a TOTAL of 6 points in 75 minutes of football last Sunday night in their 6-6 tie with the Cardinals. If ever a team needs an offense boost, they head to the Big Easy which is also the name of the Saints defense. I have no idea who will win this as the Saints are 19-7 at home vs. teams with winning road records, which the ‘Hawks have. But I expect both Brees and Russ Wilson to go up and down the field in this one.

Nugget: Over is 5-1 in last 6 games when the Seahawks have scored 15 points are less in their previous game.

Kansas City Chiefs (-2.5) – My Baltimore Sports Today partner, one Zach Wilt, and I had the Kansas City Chiefs representing the AFC in the SB this year. We both might be wrong as the Pats look like the clear favorite as we head into Halloween weekend. But that doesn’t mean the Chiefs aren’t playing well as they have steadied the USS Andy Reid after getting curb stomped vs. the Steelers are couple weeks back. Now, they head to Indy where only the Ravens might have a worse offensive line. My boy Andrew Luck has been sacked the most in the NFL and the Chiefs like to get after the QB. Plus, the KC offense should put up good numbers on the ground vs. the Colts 100th ranked rushing defense.

Nugget: Chiefs are 14-5 ATS in their last 19 in WK 8.

Dallas Cowboys (-4.5) – All the things I said above about this game, plus now you can lay some points and get better odds on the ‘Boys. Dallas has the best offensive line in football and it’s not even close. Rookie RB Easy Elliott is on pace to shatter all kinds of not only rookie records, but Cowboys RB records. This could be the last game Dax Prescott starts as Tony Romo is looming in the shadows of Jerry’s World and could return next week. Dez Bryant should also play and I think Wentz and the Eagles offense will struggle to move the ball. Lay the points.

Nugget: Cowboys are 11-5 ATS in last 16 overall coming off a bye week.
