Buck Showalter hinted at more bad news on Nolan Reimold in his comments to reporters on Monday. The O’s skipper said that Reimold will not play at least through the first half of the season and will visit a specialist for a second opinion today in Baltimore.
Reimold has been dealing with a herniated disk since April 30. He began the season with a .313 average and five homers in 16 games played.
He’s received two epidural injections to the injury, but was transferred from the 15 to the 60-day disabled list.
Baltimore fans have often thought of the 28-year-old as a hidden gem in the Orioles system who has been held back by injuries and would flourish if given consistent big league playing time. This season he earned it and landed on the DL just a month into the season.
I chronicled Reimold’s injury plague career at the end of May.
These 16 games will save Reimold’s career for another 3 years or until he meets another prostitute…and gets a happy ending.
D-U-D, dud, dud, dud!
Wonder if that old lady in Sarasota is thinking about my comment from Spring Training, Nails?
She is thinking about the Reimold comment, why I let Jeff H. get even on the Reynolds and homer and why the camera guy had us wait a whole inning for fans of the game just to stiff us! She did say that Reimold had a nice butt. although Spy and Mystery Man said the same thing…
