At this point in the Summer, minor league baseball is in full swing. The full-season leagues are coming off their All-Star breaks and the short-season leagues are settling into the daily baseball grind.
The Orioles’ farm system contains seven teams, ranging from the Triple-A Norfolk Tides to the short-season DSL Orioles (Dominican Summer League). Today we’ll look at which players have had standout seasons, comparing each club’s individual leaders.
For hitting statistics such as batting average and on-base percentage, there will be a 200 plate appearance minimum on a full-season team to qualify, or a 90 plate appearance minimum on a short season team. For pitchers’ ERA, 0.2 IP per team game played is required to qualify. Many players jump levels throughout the season, so these minimums are slightly adjusted from normal major league leaderboard minimums. All statistics are for July 21st, before tonight’s games have been played.

@ Edgar,,,,,,,you have hit on the secondary reason the O’s are a terrible organization,,,,,,,,,,,,Angelos being the primary reason,,,,,,,,,nice job with these stats it show what a lousy job the lessor known people in this pitiful organization are doing , where does the big league team go for help , the answer is nowhere……………it is no wonder this team sucks , no minor league players ready willing and able and a major league team loaded with bats bought at K-mart………what a joke……….
good job Edgar………
Spy,
I do agree partially. While I was getting these stats together, I was amazed at how poor these guys were performing compared to the rest of the minors. However, for the stats with the minimum PA or IP requirement, there’s a whole number of guys who were fairly close to the minimum but not quite there because they jumped a level or two. I think in a month or two these stats will look quite a bit better.
Thanks for your comment, always appreciated.

@ Edgar,,,,,,,I sure hope you are right , the O’s are going to need all the help they can get,,,,,,,,,,,I comment plenty about them on several different blogs but I’m truly amazed at the total lack of interest by some of my friends who used to live and die with the O’s,,,,,,,,,I used to as well , I was a season ticket holder for several years , you wouldn’t know it now . Funny how one man can do so much damage………….
