Orioles ScheduleThere are never any easy games playing in the AL East, but the Orioles schedule over their next nine games is particularly difficult.

After an off day on Monday, the Baltimore Orioles open up a three game series against the Boston Red Sox to conclude their 10-game homestand.  The Orioles swept the Mariners in three games and split a four game set with the Royals.  Wei-Yin Chen faces Josh Beckett in game one of O’s/Sox.

After the Red Sox series, the Orioles schedule sends them packing to Detroit and Texas.  The O’s open up a three game set against the playoff hopeful Tigers and AL West leading Texas Rangers.  Detroit finds themselves two games behind the White Sox for the lead in the Central and a game behind the Rays and Orioles for the Wild Card.  Meanwhile, Texas hopes to hold on to their 6.5 game lead over the LA Angels in the West.

The Orioles schedule over their next nine games won’t be easy.  But that’s the life of a contending team in mid-August.  Right now, it’s just nice to have something to worry about.
