Wait, what? You read that headline correctly.

MLB Network’s Peter Gammons presented an interesting argument for Jorge Posada leaving New York and joining the Orioles in a recent appearance on WEEI.  Gammons said that he could see a scenario in which the Yankees release the struggling veteran catcher and that he gets picked up by the Orioles.

“I know where he’d go. He’d go right to Baltimore, with Matt Wieters, do a little catching, let Wieters DH twice a week, and go back with Buck [Showalter], who knew him pretty well from the Yankee organization,” Gammons said according the transcript of his interview.

As MLB Trade Rumors points out, Buck Showalter’s last season managing the Yankees was Posada’s rookie year.

Hip hip…???
