Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Chuck Pagano is the new coach of the Indianapolis Colts.

The Colts announced that a press conference will be held at 3:00 PM tomorrow.

As Aaron Wilson points out, Pagano becomes the fourth former Ravens defensive coordinator to get a head coaching job, following Rex Ryan, Marvin Lewis and Mike Nolan.

Pagano arrives in Indianapolis after a 2-14 season in the midst of a quarterback controversy between a number one draft pick and the NFL’s biggest commercial advertising super star.  He spent the 2011 season as the DC in Baltimore after working the previous three as the Ravens’ secondary coach.

So where do the Ravens go from here? Fans have pointed to Jack Del Rio who was let go by the Jaguars this season and of course worked as the linebackers coach for the Ravens during the 1999-2001 seasons.

I don’t see the Ravens reaching back to the Billick era to make a hire.

Gerry Sandusky says that if the Ravens decide to promote within, linebackers coach Dean Pees would be the favorite. Pees worked as a coordinator in New England.

  1. This sucks…. I’m not sure that I am excited about Dean Pees being the replacement.

  2. Pagano was the ONLY coach on the Ravens’ staff that I actually liked.

Notice nobody is lining up to get the Offensive Guru, Cam Cameron don’t you?

Maybe Harbs’ dad has another golfing buddy looking for a job like when we had Numb Nuts Mattison.

  3. Not a big loss and makes the firing of Cameron that much easier!

  4. Pagano was a stand up guy , unlike the rest of the coaches,,,,,,,,,,,,,the Ravens are a lessor team today,,,,,,,,who of quality wants to play under Harbaugh , the players don’t but they are stuck…….and like MGW said , who the hell wants Cameron , only Harbaugh , what does that tell you about this staff………..

    • Totally agree with you guys , I think Bisciotti has lost his desire to win a super bowl. How can he possibly give a five year extension to a coach like Harbaugh ? Makes me sick.

  5. Lets be honest here : Super Bowl wins in this town are not going to happen with this present coaching staff , is seems to get worse not better , we have become a second fiddle team for coaching castoffs.
