Analysis: Offensive Tackle Oniel Cousins appears to be developing just as the Ravens thought he would when they drafted him before the 2008 season. He’s been brought along slowly, starting three games last season. He has a perfect attitude for an offensive lineman. Cousins has shown he is aggressive and isn’t afraid to stand up to opposing defensive ends.
2010 Outlook: Cousins will back up the right tackle position this season, which means he’s probably Jared Gaither’s top back up. One of the big match ups to watch for throughout the preseason is Cousin’s play with Jared Gaither’s injury. He will likely get some starts as Gaither has dealt with injury issues this offseason and into training camp. Should Gaither be dealt, Cousins may be the Ravens guy to fill in on the offensive line. Expect some aggression penalties out of Cousins, but also expect a tough attitude from a developing football player.
