NCAA Football: Ohio State at WisconsinThe final day of the 2013 NFL Draft is underway and the Baltimore Ravens had two selections in the fourth round this afternoon.

With the 129th overall pick, the Ravens selected DE John Simon from Ohio State University. Yet another selection to bolster their front seven, Simon was the Big Ten Player of the Year last season for Ohio State after recording nine sacks.

Head coach of the Buckeyes, Urban Meyer remarked at how much of a leader Simon was for the program and referred to him as the “heart and soul” of the team. He played defensive end, but also outside linebacker as well.

Simon, at 6’1″ 257 pounds is a bit undersized at the defensive lineman position, but can get after the quarterback with his high-motor style. You’ll never be able to get the guy out of the gym, he’s a workout freak. Simon will likely move to outside linebacker and be part of a rotation.

Getting Simon in the fourth round was a solid selection, its all about flexibility and skill-set and Simon gives the Ravens both. He isn’t a supreme talent, but he’s an effort guy and that seems to be the kind of player John Harbaugh and company wants.

The Ravens had the very next pick in the fourth round and selected FB Kyle Juszczyk from Harvard as their compensatory pick. Going 130th overall, the Ravens selected the first fullback in the draft and Juszczyk is a true, hard-nosed fullback.

Juszczyk, at 6’1″, 248 pounds, ran the 40-yard dash in 4.72 and 4.71 seconds at Harvard’s Pro Day. He had been on the Ravens radar after the Senior Bowl and visited Ravens headquarters, working out a fullback for a pre-draft workout.

At Harvard, Juszczyk played in a hybrid H-back/Tight End role and surprisingly led the Ivy League in touchdowns (8) and led Harvard offensively with catches (52) and yardage (706).

He not only possesses great hands but loves to punish defenders and gives the Ravens another option at tight end.

Here’s what Juszczyk said to the Baltimore Ravens and what they posted to the team’s Twitter account earlier:
