Zach Wilt is the Founding Editor of Baltimore Sports Report and lifelong Orioles, Ravens, and Capitals fan. He grew up on Maryland’s eastern shore, graduated from Towson University, and now lives in Central Florida where he roots for his teams from afar. The best sports moment he witnessed live was when he witnessed Delmon Young drive in three on a double down the left field line in game two of the 2012 ALDS.
Come on Zach, Boston fans are probably the most spirited bunch in professional sports?! Like it or not, you must admit their loyalty and following down 95.
Even though they might seem obnoxious, they love their Sux and generally engage in good conversation. To make matters worse, until recently they rocked the Yard with their voices…probably because they were unable to get Fenway tixs. When’s the last time Orioles fans took over an oppositions stadium, that would be never. Been to Fenway many times and they embrace visitors…respectfully disagree.
I’ve found Red Sox fans to be FAR more obnoxious than Yankees fans. I’ve never had a nice conversation with a Sox fan at Camden Yards. Ever. I’ve talked to plenty of nice New Yorkers. I had one Yanks fan come up to me and shake my hand out of nowhere to thank me for how nice our fans are and how gorgeous our ballpark is.
That would great IF the fans were coming from Boston. Like the Yankees’ “fans” who we talked to earlier this year, most of these “fans” like the one above come from Severna Park or Northern Virginia. Not in all cases, but in a lot of cases.
The kid is wearing an Orioles hat and Ortiz jersey? WTF?
Unless I’m wrong and it’s a Russ Ortiz Orioles jersey. Yeah, that’s probably it. I’d rather believe it’s that.
Come on Brian it’s not rocket science, the kid is probably visiting from NE loves Boston and Ortiz in particular and bought a $5 cheaper on the outside O’s hat to keep his hair dry during the recent storms. He’ll take the hat back to Boston and wear it while he is cleaning fish on his Dad’s million dollar yacht. Case closed, let’s move on important things.
That’s a New Era 5950, not a “$5 cheaper.”
