Much to the delight of fans, the Baltimore Ravens pulled out their all black uniforms against the New Orleans Saints. The Ravens haven’t worn all black since John Harbaugh was hired in 2008 and as Mike Duffy points out, they have improved to 4-2 in the dark alternative uniforms.
“We could see them again,” Harbaugh told Duffy.
Fans weren’t the only ones excited to see the all black look return, veterans Derrick Mason and Ed Reed were eager to break out the uniforms in December according to Harbaugh.
“The players have feedback into what we’re wearing, and some of the guys wanted them as a December thing,” he said.
Baltimore also debuted the purple jersey with black pants against the Steelers on December 5th, which I thought was pretty slick, but received some criticism.
I’m also a big fan of the all black look and am glad to see the Ravens bring it back after three years.
What’s your favorite Ravens uniform combination?
I like the all-black, but really liked the Purple jersey and black pants… what criticism was there? I wish they'd get rid of the white (I know they can't) and wear them all the time. Black and Purple is "The Raven!"
I liked the purple and black too Joe. The twitterverse wasn't big on it. But I thought it was a slick new look.
The all black combo is the best uniform look for the Ravens. Now if they woul just ditch that stupid Heckyl and Jeckyl looking bird…
I like the black on black as well. It makes Ngata look lean (er) and mean.
How bout "Burgundy & Gold"? They are hittin' colors… I use those colors to wash my "Vette" then dry it off with some "Black & Yellow"…
Gold or yellow. I'm so confused.
I liked the purple and black too Joe. The twitterverse wasn’t big on it. But I thought it was a slick new look.
