You know you’re having a good day when your punter scores a touchdown.

With his team up 41-17, John Harbaugh decided to have his Baltimore Ravens step on the throat of the Oakland Raiders. Baltimore lined up for a 25 yard field goal attempt, but instead faked the kick as punter/holder Sam Koch rushed for a seven yard touchdown run.

“The thinking was that it was there, it’s an overload look,” Harbaugh explained to reporters after the game. So, why not go for it, right?

Koch’s guns have always impressed Ravens fans, but now his running ability has given them another reason to root for the punter. “It was better than mine,” Ray Rice said about Koch’s touchdown. “He set up his blocks. I’m going to have to take a few lessons out of his book.”

Surprisingly, the Raiders didn’t complain about Harbaugh and the Ravens running up the score. “It’s our job to stop them,” coach Dennis Allen said after the game.

Koch didn’t hear any angry Raiders, but for another reason.

“Not that I know of. I was too busy doing high-fives and spiking the ball.”
