On Friday the 13th the Orioles sported their retro orange “pumpkin” uniforms from the 1970s to the tune of a 5-0 win against their AL East opponent’s the Tampa Bay Rays. Manager Buck Showalter wasn’t spotted in the “candy corn” uni’s though. He opted to cover up as much orange as possible by wearing his Orioles pullover on top of the jersey throughout the duration of the game.
In his post game interview, Buck laughed about the uniforms saying, “take a picture because you won’t see them again.” When asked again about the jersey Buck responded by saying “You can have it right now, I can’t wait to get out of it.”
I thought they looked awesome, but hey, gotta love the guy. The Buck count is at 9-2. Keep ’em coming.
Orange unis are nice to trot out there every 40 years, but wouldn't want to see them every day!
Agreed. I just thought Buck's reaction was pretty hilarious.
I would say about an hour.
