If you were looking forward to the Joba/Huff matchup you watched the wrong game. Chamberlain didn’t drill any of the Bird‘s. He actually took a linedrive to the padding around his knee. Joba threw just 14 pitches and gave up two hits, one of which did come off of the bat of Aubrey Huff.
Adam Eaton might have pitched his way right out of an Oriole’s uniform. He put the Bird’s in a 6-0 hole after 2 innings. Robinson Cano tore him apart with 3 RBIs and 3 hits. Eaton’s ERA is now 8.56 and too many young pitchers are beating down the door in Norfolk to keep him for his less than 5 innings of work. He’s given up 14 earned runs and 4 homers in his last two starts.
Baltimore tried to rally. They scored 4, Roberts and Markakis hit solo homeruns and Ty Wigginton hit the first pinch-hit of the year, it was a 2 RBI double in the 6th.
Both teams had 25 hits in the series, but the O’s were outscored by 27-9.
Nick Markakis snapped a 2 for 18 mini-slump. He went 3 for 5 last night. Adam Jones continued his 8 game hit streak. He went 1 for 5, during his streak he’s batting .424 with 4 homeruns and 8 RBIs.

Finally I get around to reading this post about last night's game, and the O's are one out away from snapping their 4-game losing streak. The Washington Nationals-the cure for any losing streak!
Nothing would be better than a sweep in DC!
