Drafted in the first round of the 2001 draft — just two months after the Ravens won Super Bowl XXXV — Heap spent the 2011-2012 season with the Arizona Cardinals after being released by Baltimore after the NFL lockout. Heap was injured in week two of the 2012 season and after being sidelined for 11 consecutive weeks, the Cards cut their losses and released him.

Class all the way… Very classy move on Heaps part… The guy will always be a Raven… Too bad Kyle Boller got him injured jumping in the middle of the field for his passes… Heap was fearless on those routes…
