I know it’s perfectly legal to tackle a player by his hair, but it definitely seems like something that Pacman Jones would go out of his way to do.
In the second quarter of Sunday’s game against the Bengals, Ravens wide receiver Torrey Smith converted a third down on a slant route across the middle of the field. Just as he turned on the jets and head a lock on the end zone, Pacman Jones grabbed him by the dreadlocks and dropped him to the ground.
After the game, Smith told reporters that he was shocked by the hair tackle. “I thought it was going to hurt,” he added.
