Zach Wilt is the Founding Editor of Baltimore Sports Report and lifelong Orioles, Ravens, and Capitals fan. He grew up on Maryland’s eastern shore, graduated from Towson University, and now lives in Central Florida where he roots for his teams from afar. The best sports moment he witnessed live was when he witnessed Delmon Young drive in three on a double down the left field line in game two of the 2012 ALDS.
Jones’ raw athleticism is ridiculous. Its interesting that most of the defensive metrics have him as a below average center fielder. Those can take a while to stabilize (its best to look at a couple year sample) but its probably worth noting that the only year as an Oriole he has posted at positive UZR is 2008. I’m curious to know what is holding him back, it seems like it must be positioning and arm strength, as his athleticism certainly supports a well above average range.
