Zach Wilt is the Founding Editor of Baltimore Sports Report and lifelong Orioles, Ravens, and Capitals fan. He grew up on Maryland’s eastern shore, graduated from Towson University, and now lives in Central Florida where he roots for his teams from afar. The best sports moment he witnessed live was when he witnessed Delmon Young drive in three on a double down the left field line in game two of the 2012 ALDS.
Flacco has played like dirt the last few weeks. I know everyone in this town is “Wakko for Flacco” and lord knows your not allowed to criticize him, but I’m going to do it anyway.
The Raven defense is still getting routinely screwed by an abysmal offense. Does that mean I want anyone other than Flacco? No, not at all, but people that want to complain about the defensive secondary and how our kicking game has been, they need to look just as hard at Joe Flacco’s play. He will continue to improve, I have not lost faith in the guy at all, but lets not let our love for him blind us to the fact that he is not exactly Joe Montana at this point in his development.
Time for Baltimore fans to hold Joe equally accountable for what has thus far, been an even bigger disappointment than the Orioles this season. Yeah, I said it, the O’s had an excuse, the Ravens have none, they just blow games all by themselves and I for one am fed up with it.
And Cam Cameron too, for an offensive “genius” he sure calls a lousy game. QB sneak at the one Cam, there is no law that says you can’t call the same play twice in a row. Then, not to have the faith in the team to go on 4th at the goal line? Shameful offensive display yesterday.
Flacco has looked flat the past three games. I saw that Mike Preston is wondering about the condition of his ankle.
I agree with some of your points, but disagree with others. I liked the Ravens game plan against the Colts. They wanted long drives to keep Indy off the field and they did just that. I blame the players for failing to convert 3’s into 7’s.
Also, blame John Harbaugh for another poor performance as a coach. Poor clock management, wastes of timeouts…it all adds up.
