Troy Polamalu went missing for the Steelers on Sunday as they got annihilated by the Ravens 35-7. The only time I remember seeing the free-flowing, insured mane was in a fight with Ray Rice late in the game.
Ravens and Steelers fans have been debating the fight here in comments on BaltimoreSportsReport.com. From the look of the video (embedded below) Rice gets in Polamalu’s face and Polamalu grabs Rice’s leg and twists it throwing him to the ground. That’s when the rest of the Ravens jumped in.
Was Troy Polamalu trying to hurt Ray Rice on the play? You be the judge of that. Typically though when you’re twisting an opponent’s leg in a game in which you’ve been a non-factor, I’d say the answer is “yes.”
Some nut was on the site yesterday trying to say that Rice started this fight. This video tells the story. Troy has been getting beat like a drum his last few games and frustration is setting in. This is a clear attempt to injury a fellow player and should result in a fine. No way to defend this Steel Lady!
I think Rice’s leg got in the way and he tripped and they both went down. Troy is a good person. I don’t think he would deliberatley try to rip a fellow players leg off. The insults directed towards him because he has a soft voice and long hair say a lot about the character of the above poster.
Ummm, if you watched the replay DURING the game, it looks aLOT like Rice threw a Punch in Polomalu’s direction BEFORE Troy went after him……BUT, nice guy or not, this video CLEARLY shows him grabbing Rice’s leg, and giving it a twist! NOT so nice….
As a matter of fact, after rewatching here, yeah Rice gave Troy a bit of a shove before he backed up. STILL, no need for Troy to get nasty. But hey, it’s football…..
did anybody see rice knee troy in the face… so he got mad and twisted his leg.. are u guys blind
Well said.
Boys will be boys…………..
Rice knees Troy in the face. Hence the fight. Troy is not a fighter nor a dirty player. Never has been. Rice started this and Troy finished it.
Funny how none of the biased and bitter Baltimore fans (bitter because Big Ben OWNS YOU in the post-season when it counts) have the balls to own up to the fact that Ray Rice kneed Polamalu in the face and possibly stepped on his junk while trying to get up. Polamalu has more class in one strand of hair than the entire city of Baltimore. Rice got what he deserved, and probably not even enough of it.
Keep acting like you won the Super Bowl Ravens fan. Game one matters little in December.
@SteelCity – “Yunz” is about the biggest whiner I’ve seen on this blog… You run your mouth like your some kind of crazy boy band stalker…
I can’t believe you actually rocked a “has more class in one strand of hair than the entire city of Baltimore”. All I was waiting to read next was a “pinky” comparison… Man, this is 2011, not 1980 “Champ”, come join the rest of us will ya…
You’re the “Clown” that would crash a kindergarten class and answer all the questions before the kids and ridicule them for not knowing the answers…
“Big Ben” (Yunz name for him SteelCity) sure owned the Ravens last week didn’t he? Your only as good as your last game “Dabu” and the Steelers sucked!
Game 1 means a shitload “Danny Ocean” when you get your ass handed to you 35-7… Mentality factor plays a big part “Chuckles”…
Look “Larry Daley”, you don’t actually think things are going to come alive because you’re spending the night in a museum, right?
BTW “Joe Loop”, when you stop crying into that piss yellow towel, you can still use it to hold your broken dreams in…
Even the “International Man of Mystery”, Chow, makes more sense then your babbling shit… So why don’t you take it easy “Hoss”. Sit this next one out cause we don’t know what journey your on but we can’t take this trip with you…
Yinz can’t get over the fact that your team sat back and did nothing this offseason except get a year older. It was a great run, but it’s over.
Chow in da house Steerer britches!!!!!!!!!! mister intimidator you very funny man. you put sissy Steerer fans in they prace. no steerer fan come into our house say crap. we Ravens are you daddy, “Prastic City”. Still not quite sure what to make of you. BM1958 is a friend of mine and a Steeler fan. He’s a good guy. 2488, he might like to go to the Hippo with you. You should ask him.
No… Ravens2488, no can do… Ravens2488 WON’T do… No Hippo Bar for the straight laced, limousine ridin’, jet flyin’, wheelin’ dealin’, son of a bitch, Ravens2488!
Zach:
Your assessment is completely off. I am not surprised though since your a Baltimoron. You need to watch the video, which clearly shows that Rice deserved what little he got from Troy.
First, at the 1 to 2 second mark, Troy was still standing when Rice used his left hand to pull Troy’s left, and then Rice wrapped Troy’s legs up to force Troy to the ground.
Second, at the 3 to 4 second mark of the video, Rice headbutts Troy.
At the 4 to 5 second mark, Rice knees Troy, who is still down on the ground.
At the 5 to 6 second mark, Rice has grabbed Troy’s hair with his right hand and worked his left forearm under Troy’s chin.
At the 6 to 7 second mark, Rice tried and failed to body slam Troy. As Troy turns the slam on Rice, who is now falling to the ground, Rice is still holding onto Troy’s hair with the left hand. Rice pulls Troy back to the ground by pulling with his left hand on Troy’s hair.
And there you go, that’s how the scrum started.
Keep your day job, which I guess in Baltimore means go back to selling drugs.
