Wei-Yin Chen Dons His Orioles Uniform In A New Taiwanese Commercial For (What I Think Is) A Video Game

I feel like Wei-Yin Chen is probably a way bigger star in Taiwan than we realize here in frigid Baltimore, Maryland U.S. of A.

Chen is featured donning his orange Orioles uniform in a new Taiwanese commercial for what appears to be some sort of video game. Perhaps a mobile game? It has the MLB logo on it.

In the ad, Chen is dressed up in game apparel and is showing people how to hold pitches and throw, there’s also this random scene with a woman in wedding dress.

Honestly, I don’t have a clue what’s going on.

If there’s a translator out there that could provide some insight to this (dumb) non-Taiwanese speaking blogger, that’d be awesome. Thanks internet!

Basically in every spot of the ad, its Taiwanese telling Chen Wei-Yin that Taiwan supports you, don’t give up etc. And in the end, its basically saying you can support Wei-Yin and enjoy playing as him in the lastest MLB game.

  Not really. In the begging you think they’re telling Chen Wei-Yin that we supports you, but In the end of AD ,in fact those people are all playing that baseball cellphone game. They actually talk to Chen(as a game character) in the game. The bride is playing the game before wedding(so she wear wedding dress),the child is playing in his room…etc.

this game is popular in Taiwan .there are many chen’s supporters inTaiwan ,they hope chen can show his best play in MLB.The last words inthe ad is “everyone wants to win everyone has chen”

The Game’s title is like “Baseball for Everyone” in Taiwan, so you can see the kid, taxi driver, bride, white collar…etc in the AD, means the game is everyone. Well, it should have an ENG version next time, since the wording is easy to understand!
