In a recent post on Yahoo’s Shutdown Corner, Shane Bacon (awesome name) listed Joe Flacco among his “30 things I learned about 2010 NFL regular season.” Except he wrote that he didn’t learn anything.
10. I have absolutely no idea if Joe Flacco is any good, and neither do you.
While a number of big name analysts and former players, including Boomer Esiason, believe in Flacco going forward, this season didn’t show enough to prove that he is the guy to take Baltimore into the promise land. Most of that blame could probably be put on Cam Cameron and the Ravens coaching staff.
But I tend to agree with Bacon, that the jury is still out on Flacco. He’s definitely sufficient, but this season didn’t really show us what we should expect moving forward.
What do you think the 2010 regular season showed us about Joe Flacco?
You kidding right? Go compare his stats to where Payton was in the same year, same time frame. This is a QB who has taken the Raven's to the playoffs every year he's been on the team and the jury is still out? Go educate yourself…
Not kidding. I'm not saying that Flacco can't be a top five QB, I'm just saying that this year didn't show us he could. Do you really think at the
Stats are for losers.
How about this stat…1 TD and 6 INTs in the post season.
How about a 3-3 record in the playoffs- ALL ON THE ROAD.
How about only throwing 10 passes? I guess the equipment guy is 3-3, too.
How about 25-34, 265 yds, 2 TD?Sent from my iPhone
So it's Ravens-Steelers, Part III and you choose to go after ol' MGW first?!!
Interesting…
You already chalking up a loss for him against the Chiefs?
Have to agree with you MGW even though I hate to do it. If Flacco is the man, he will show it this post season. If he doesn't, he won't be in the upper tier of QB's. Guys like Brady, Manning and Roethlesburger will their teams to victory at times, I haven't seen that from Flacco.
I posted a perfectly logical argument earlier today and it is not here. Anyone take it down?
No one took it down. We're having some issues with the comments today. My comment wasn't posted either. It should be up in a few minutes. Sorry Chris.
looking into it…..
It's ok
Joe Flacco or as he is more affectionately known Jobot is going to take the Ravens to the promised land. Come on it's destiny- Ravens draw KC in the opening round, Jets beat Indy. I am telling you Joe Cool takes care of business today, The Ravens take Rapistbergers head off next Saturday and in the snow show the Brady bunch that Baltimore is for real. Book it, Ravens in Dallas, so strike up the Baltimore Ravens (Colts) marching band.
Oh, please. Jobot and Rapistberger? I suppose in light of anything substantive to comment on, that's the best you can do?
Lets talk about Ashley Harlan, she either lives under a rock or is using Big Ben to get out of the double wide that she currently lives in? Most women that I hang aroung generally avoid serial rapist. What's your take?
You know nothing about the young woman, neither do I. Leave your rapist (never proven) comments aside and stick to the game.
Three minutes left to go in the game between your Ratbirds and the high school team from KC.
BRING IT ON BOYS!
P.S. MGW…where are you? I need to converse with someone sane and honest who knows something about football.
CSF – we'll be talking a lot this week as our teams butt heads again. Look forward to it!
CSF – You only want to talk about what you want… You talk trash but run when someone comes back at you…
You ran your mouth first and Will-o responded so answer him and not run and hide…
Flacco's second half proved that he can play in the playoffs. I don't think any Ravens fans are rooting against him, just pointing out that despite the record Flacco's numbers haven't been terrific in the post season until today. Hopefully he can bring it to Pittsburgh next week.
