After a 1-3 trip in Detroit the O’s crossed to border for three in Canada.
Rookie Jason Berken won his first game since his debut on May 26, also coming against the Jays, tonight against at the Rogers Centre. Berken earned the win and a quality start with his six innings, five hits, and three earned runs. He also fanned six Blue Jays.
He started off a little shaky in the first giving up two solo homers to Vernon Wells and Alex Rios. Berken was also charged with one in the fifth when Aaron Hill hit an RBI double.
But, the O’s scored four times in the sixth inning. It all started with a two RBI double from Nick Markakis.
Nolan Reimold also drove in two today and Matt Wieters had a big day at the plate, he went 2 for 3 with an RBI. He’s hitting .360 over his last 14 games.
Tonight was the Orioles first win on the road against the Jays, they are just 3-16 on the road against the AL East.
