The last few years the ACC has not been the best league in terms of depth within the league. They have won two of the last three national titles but each year seems to have only two to three horses in the race. On the recruiting trail, it seems to show this trend as well. As Jason King writes on Yahoo Sports, the ACC signed 14 of the top 100 prospects for next year’s hoops. And of the 14, 10 signed with Duke, North Carolina, or Virginia Tech. North Carolina and Duke will get their players to reload for runs at national titles while the rest of the league seems to be stuck in 3rd gear unable to catch the leaders.
With Gary Williams stepping down, Maryland’s top prospect Nick Faust (# 48 overall) looked to sign elsewhere. However, new coach Mark Turgeon was able to keep Faust with the Terps. The Terps have a good nucleus returning next year and some of the incoming recruits should bring new life to the team.
Is the ACC title a two team race again or will some of the other schools compete for the ACC title? More importantly, will any other school compete for a national title?
I don’t believe that we should be gaining loincloths made of dingo skin, moreso than we have been within a position training. And once we understand is usually perfectly worth training, it’ll outstanding.
