In Tuesday night’s 3-2 shootout win against the Toronto Maple Leafs, Alex Ovechkin recorded his 300th career goal. As RMNB points out, Ovechkin, 25 years and 200 days old, is the sixth youngest player in NHL history to reach the milestone, behind Hall of Famers Wayne Gretzky (22 years, 321 days), Mario Lemieux (23, 179 days), Dale Hawerchuk (24, 308 days), Mike Bossy (25, 60 days), and Steve Yzerman (25, 176 days).

The goal was a blast that came during a two man advantage for Washington in the first period. It was a typical Alex Ovechkin shot, his 31st goal of the season.
