boldinFormer Ravens wide receiver Anquan Boldin was a guest on Mike and Mike in the Morning on ESPN radio on Thursday and talked candidly about Baltimore’s many free agent losses this offseason.

“I thought those guys were key components of winning last year — Paul Kruger had a great year, Dannell Ellerbe played great for us, especially down the stretch, myself included in that, a guy like Ed Reed, I don’t think you can let him go — he’s a Raven legend, the things he’s done for that organization, you can’t lose a guy like that,” Boldin said according to Michael David Smith of ProFootballTalk.com.

You can’t disagree with Boldin’s obvious comments. Ellerbe and Kruger were big parts of the Super Bowl winning team and without Boldin’s big catches there no way the Ravens are the champions.

Reed is meeting with the Houston Texans this morning and he’s the one guy on that list that I’m less sure about. How much does he have left in the tank and do the Ravens want to deal with the baggage he carries off the field too?

I’m not so sure. But then again, I thought Bernard Pollard would definitely be in purple next season.
