In a move that O’s fans have begged to see for a while now, the Orioles option first baseman Garrett Atkins to AAA Norfolk to make room for relief pitcher Koji Uehara.
News broke this morning of the roster move on MASNSports.com, Atkins left Camden Yards before reporters could talk to him. He batted just .214 with 1 home run in 44 games with the O’s this season.
We speculated that Jake Fox’s addition to this team meant the end of Atkins, today the Orioles made that move official.
Another roster move may be in the works in the next couple days, as Felix Pie is reportedly getting close to rejoining the Orioles.
Reghi!!!!!!!!
The Nationals have certainly fallen back to earth.
Anybody see our boy Bossman Juniors antics today? He lollygagged after a ball hit to center playing it into a triple, then had to be physically seperated from Longoria in the dugout… a couple of times, before getting picked off an inning later. Wheels are coming off the cart in Tampa. Maybe fans were calling him by his name and he got distracted. Longoria woulda kicked his scrawny little a–.
So Bruz ditched us on Friday but went on Saturday?
Hmmmm…..
Can they option the Crow to Triple A?
