Red Sox starting pitcher Josh Beckett had the most rage following last night’s brouhaha at Fenway. Beckett classily dropped several “f-bombs” when talking about the scuffle his team got into with the Orioles. Even though you’ve got to search deep within the Boston newspapers to find the ace’s quotes, I unearthed them and analyzed them here at BSR.

“You go to the well three times, something’s looking pretty bad,’’ Beckett said in a quote deep within the Boston Globe’s recap of the game. “I don’t know why they were trying to do that, but it was pretty obvious to me that it wasn’t just ‘I was just trying to pitch you in.’ ’’

BSR’s statistical expert Ross Gore detailed that only one of Gregg’s pitches was particularly inside, but Josh go on.

“I feel like [Gregg] should’ve been thrown out before any of that [expletive] even happened,’’ Beckett said.

“We’re a good hitting team and you can’t just be hitting our [expletive] guys just because we score a lot of runs. That’s how the game should be played. It may be something totally different or maybe they saw something they didn’t like or whatever,” he said.

Did I miss Ortiz being hit by the pitch?

“But if it’s just because we scored eight runs in the first inning and they’re going to throw at our [expletive] guys, it’s going to be a long year.’’

He talks just like a Boston fan.

The Orioles player’s responses have received much more attention that Beckett’s, though in my opinion his were the most fiery. You wouldn’t know it by reading the headlines, Beckett’s outlandish remarks are hidden deep within the confines of a game recap.
