The American League Wild Card Game starts tonight at 8 PM on TBS with the Oakland Athletics at the Kansas City Royals. Coverage of the American League portion of the playoffs with the Wild Card Game, Division Series, and Championship Series will all be able to be seen on TBS.
The MLB Postseason on TBS will once again feature the trio of Ernie Johnson (play-by-play) and analysts Ron Darling and Cal Ripken calling one of the ALDS series and the ALCS. They will also provide commentary for the American League Wild Card Game. For the other Divsion series, the group will feature play-by-play from Brian Anderson with Hall of Famer Dennis Eckersley and veteran analyst Joe Simpson.
TBS’ studio coverage will include analysis by eight-time All-Star and three-time Cy Young Award winner Pedro Martinez and nine-time All-Star Gary Sheffield, anchored by studio host Casey Stern.
Baltimore Sports Report was invited to take place in a conference call to ask questions of both Pedro Martinez and Gary Sheffield. Unfortunately, Jake English and Scott Magness, from Bird’s Eye View, took place in the call and brought their lack of insight and baseless opinion to the question and answer portion of the call at 34:50. Check out the entire call and see what a former Red Sox and Yankees player thinks about their teams being out of the playoffs and small market teams like Kansas City, Pittsburgh, and Baltimore being there instead.
