The O’s started early against Joba Chamberlain, but couldn’t hang on the get to victory. It was Aubrey Huff who hit a 3 run homer in the bottom of the 1st and taunted Joba with 3 fist pumps (one for each run) around the bases.

“He does that stuff all the time as a pitcher, so I was just having a little fun with him out there,” Huff said. “That’s just part of the game. You get excited in situations like that. I wasn’t showing anybody up. I was just having a good time.”
Koji Uehara pitched another gem, allowing only an earned run in 6 innings pitched. But he was replaced in the 7th by Jamie Walker who allowed a homerun to Robinson Cano and then Jim Johnson who allowed a homer to Johnny Damon which gave the Yankees a 5-3 lead.
Luke Scott left the game with an injured shoulder. Dave Trembley said Scott would have an MRI on Monday. If Scott goes on the disabled list he would likely be replaced by Oscar Salazar. I know everyone wants to see Nolan Reimold, but Salazar is more of a DH and is currently hitting .374 at Norfolk.
The O’s are now 3-3 against the Yankees and travel to New York next week to face them for the first time on the road.

Once again, Koji Uehara pitches well enough to get a win; once again the bullpen lets him down. Same old song and dance. When the bats get shut down, the Orioles are left to rely on pitching and defense. Pitching let them down today, though the Yanks did get a bit of luck with the infield hits prior to Damon's homer.

When did the O's decide that Koji is the new Guthrie. It's the same old story and it's driving me crazy. Starting pitching will be the problem for the O's, but when you get it you've got to take advantage and the O's didn't capitalize today.
Saw the game today and saw the tweet about your post. Had to get a comment in before I call it a night. I see you've been in my neck of the woods too.
If Koji is the new Guthrie, what is Guthrie now?
Yeah indeed I have. I enjoy your posts about several different topics.
If Koji is the new Guthrie then Guthrie is truly the Ace? I don't know actually that is a good question. I'm still hoping for a little more out of Jeremy this year. Not too bad so far.
