The O’s started early against Joba Chamberlain, but couldn’t hang on the get to victory. It was Aubrey Huff who hit a 3 run homer in the bottom of the 1st and taunted Joba with 3 fist pumps (one for each run) around the bases.

“He does that stuff all the time as a pitcher, so I was just having a little fun with him out there,” Huff said. “That’s just part of the game. You get excited in situations like that. I wasn’t showing anybody up. I was just having a good time.”

Koji Uehara pitched another gem, allowing only an earned run in 6 innings pitched. But he was replaced in the 7th by Jamie Walker who allowed a homerun to Robinson Cano and then Jim Johnson who allowed a homer to Johnny Damon which gave the Yankees a 5-3 lead.

Luke Scott left the game with an injured shoulder. Dave Trembley said Scott would have an MRI on Monday. If Scott goes on the disabled list he would likely be replaced by Oscar Salazar. I know everyone wants to see Nolan Reimold, but Salazar is more of a DH and is currently hitting .374 at Norfolk.

The O’s are now 3-3 against the Yankees and travel to New York next week to face them for the first time on the road.
