Even after Bruce Boudreau embarrassed New York Rangers fans by calling out the dump that is Madison Square Garden, the Washington Capitals came back from a three goal deficit to take a 3-1 lead in the series after a 4-3 double overtime win.

“Well, the one thing, its reputation is far better than the actual building,” Boudreau told 105.9 The Edge earlier this week.  You can guarantee that place was loud on Wednesday.

Washington allowed three goals in the second period, two in seven seconds and then rallied to score three of their own in the third to send the game into overtime.  Alex Semin and Marcus Johansson were the heroes in the third period for Washington, while Jason Chimera came up with the game winner in the second overtime at 12:36.

Washington will take it’s 3-1 lead back to the louder Verizon Center, where they hope to finish the Rangers in game five on Saturday afternoon.
