It appears as though the Orioles will push back rookie starting pitcher Zach Britton’s scheduled start against New York in Yankee Stadium. Britt Ghiroli of MLB.com is reporting that the Birds will start Jake Arrieta in Britton’s spot since he has experience in New York.

In fact, Arrieta made his Major League debut against the Yankees on June 10. Arrieta earned the win in a six inning, four hit, three run effort.

The Orioles rookie recently shut down the red hot Texas Rangers, giving up just four hits over 7.2 scoreless innings.  He improved to 2-0 with a 0.66 ERA.

Britton will pitch next against the Indians on Friday in Baltimore’s fourth game of the upcoming six game road trip.
