Roger Clemens new team is owned by Brooks RobinsonRoger Clemens is back in professional baseball — sort of.

The 50-year-old Rocket returned to the game playing Houston’s Sugar Land Skeeters of the Independent League on Saturday night. Clemens threw 3 1/3 scoreless innings, surrendering just one hit, no walks and striking out two against the Bridgeport Bluefish.

So what does Clemens’ return have to do with Baltimore Orioles Hall of Famer Brooks Robinson? Turns out that Robinson is part owner of the Sugar Land Skeeters.

The Skeeters play in the same division as our local Independent League team, the York Revolution, who had previously been managed by former Orioles catcher Chris Hoiles.
