If Sunday’s game with the New England Patriots is a measuring stick for the Ravens as a team, then Sunday around 4pm we’ll know a little bit more about how the Ravens stack up against the leagues elite. The Baltimore Ravens travel to Foxborough this weekend to take on Tom Brady and the Patriots, a game that could be either an offensive shootout or a defensive nail biter.
The 2-1 New England Patriots enter Sundays game following a big win over Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons. Fred Taylor ran for over 100 yds last week and Bill Belicheck managed to confuse Matt Ryan enough to get the win. The Patriots were lucky to escape week 1 with a win after a fumble by Buffalo’s Leodis McKelvin, and they were stifled by Rex Ryan and the New York Jets in week two for there only loss this season. The Patriots could be without several key starters for this weeks matchup. Vince Wilfork and Wes Welker both have injuries that could cause them to miss Sunday’s game.
The 3-0 Ravens will show up Sunday hoping to show they belong among the leagues elite teams. Joe Flacco and the offense have scored 38, 31 and 34 points respectively in there opening three games. Willis McGahee and Ray Rice will be important for the Ravens as they try to get Joe Flacco comfortable in New England. The defense, ranked 7 th in the league currently will try to limit Randy Moss and the Patriots wide receivers from making big plays down the field. The last time they faced an elite quarterback that was something the defense struggled with. On Sunday against Tom Brady, hopefully it will be a different story.
