#5 Seed: Chris Davis hammers three homeruns against Blue Jays
On the night of August 24th, the Orioles needed a win to keep pace with the New York Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays. Chris Davis had three hits in the game. And all three went for home runs in the O’s 6-4 win over Toronto. He tagged Carlos Villanueva for solo homers in the 2nd and 4th innings and then hit a two-run bomb to LF off Steve Delabar in the 6th inning to give the O’s a 5-1 lead.
#12 Seed: Matt Wieters hits grand slam in the 10th inning against White Sox
One of the early season comebacks for the Orioles happened on April 16th in Chicago. With the game tied at 4 in the top of the 10th, the Orioles already had taken a 6-4 lead on hits by Chris Davis and Nolan Reimold. Matt Wieters stepped to the plate with the bases loaded and drove a 3-2 pitch into the bleachers in right field to blow the game wide open. The O’s went on to beat the White Sox 10-4 as the magic was just beginning.
